Manifestations bucco-dentaires au cours de la polyarthrite rhumatoïde : Synopsis d’une série ouest africaine.
Résumé

(PR) et l’atteinte bucco-dentaire est établie.
Cependant, peu d’études africaines sont
retrouvées à ce sujet. L’objectif de ce travail était
d’évaluer l’état bucco-dentaire de 16 patients
atteints de PR.
Patients et méthodes : Nous avons réalisé une
étude transversale sur cinq mois allant de Janvier
à Mai 2015 chez des patients porteurs de PR aux
services de Rhumatologie et d’Odontologie de
l’Hôpital Aristide Le Dantec de Dakar.
Résultats : Notre population d’étude comprenait
16 patients dont 13 femmes (81,2%). La moyenne
d’âge au moment du diagnostic était de 33 ans ±
3 mois. La durée d’évolution des symptômes
variait d’un an neuf mois à 15 ans avec une
médiane de deux ans. La majorité des patients
avait une PR d’activité modérée (68,8%). La
gingivorragie était le symptôme le plus fréquent.
La moyenne de l’indice de plaque (IP) était de
74,1 %, celle de l’indice de saignement au
sondage (BOP) était de 64,35 % et celle de
l’indice gingival était de 1,4. Nous avons retrouvé
une moyenne de 2,7 dents cariées, d’une dent
devant être avulsée et de 4,2 dents absentes. Six
patients ont présenté une gingivite, deux cas de
parodontite modérée et huit cas de parodontite
sévère. Il n’y avait pas de corrélation
statistiquement significative entre les paramètres
de la PR et les paramètres bucco-dentaires.
